IN A NUTSHELL
Sunshine death's kid finally arrives at adulthood and tries to start learning what that entails.
Tends towards open posture, no issue getting in people's personal space. Leans a little more towards casual femme than masc, but will vary a lot, especially when dressing up; likes pastels, flowing skirts and shirts, vests, earrings, and excuses to wear costumes. Georgia accent, usually slightly downplayed, but tends to get thicker when they're very comfortable, telling stories, or giving readings.

BACKGROUND

✴ Deaths reproduce very rarely. Is it biology or a lack of desire? --Probably both. But it means Val is, as far as they're aware, the first natural half-death in quite a while. They tend to view all deaths as parental/familial figures and are generally treated like a favored nephew, or cousin, depending on the age of the death in question.
✴ Aging slowed around 8-10 and continues to slow since. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when they graduated from late teens to adulthood, but has only really been making any stabs at independence in the last 2-3 years.
✴ Mother and father were very much in love, but father was very rooted and mother was not really suited for that. She intended to stay around to raise Val, but when she realized they weren't aging like a human kid, things came to a head.
✴ Grew up with their dad for the most part, with their mother regularly traveling and returning to the two of them with gifts and love. Slightly atypical, but it worked for three of them for a long time, but the older they get without getting older the way their mother expects, the more they grow apart.
✴ Picked up card reading from their mom and gardening from their dad, and those are probably their two biggest hobbies.
✴ As opposed to deaths proper, has a very sheltered view towards dying and grief. Most of the people they've known were immortal or at least had to choose to pass on and therefore it was more celebrated than grieved. Has never really known a natural death of someone they cared about.
✴ Pillar in their local supernatural community. They regularly offer dinner to the vamps, babysit the local werewolf pack's kids on full moons, know the nearby covens and who's feuding with who, leave offerings for the fae and occasionally help out people who need a break from them negotiate one.... They're extremely involved, love being involved, and wouldn't know what to do if they couldn't be.

LONGEVITY.
Aging began slowing down around 8-10, and the rate continues to slow over time. The upper bounds of their likely lifespan is currently unknown. No superhuman durability; tends towards quick healing, but still within human parameters.
RECOGNITION OF LIFEFORMS.
Attempts at disguise, both magical and mundane, do not work on death's kids. They can tell someone by a sort of intangible signature, regardless of age or state. This doesn't tell them anything about who the person is or give them names, but if they've met them before, they will recognize it is, essentially, the same soul.
CARTOMANCY & DIVINATION.
They will swear up and down this is a skill and not a supernatural ability, but the jury's out if there's a psychic edge to it; either way, they tend to be very correct. They primarily read tarot and playing cards, but are also capable of and familiar with reading tea leaves, coffee grounds, pendulums, crystal balls, palmistry, and have dabbled in dream interpretation.
